You can now create a sheet from a file at a public web address and keep it updated from that link.
Import from a link
- Choose New Sheet, then Import from a link, and paste the web address of a CSV, Excel or JSON file.
- InstaCharts downloads the file and shows a preview with the usual import options: sheet name, header detection, column selection and file encoding.
- Supported formats are CSV, TSV, PSV, TXT, log, JSON, JSON Lines, Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb), OpenDocument (.ods, .fods) and Apple Numbers.
Sync from a link
- A sheet imported from a link keeps the link, which shows under Synced From in the sheet menu.
- Sync Now in Sync Settings downloads the latest version of the file and replaces the sheet's data. Charts, data tables, dashboards and embeds all show the new data.
- Paid workspaces can sync a link hourly, daily, weekly or monthly, and can pause a sync schedule at any time.
